Inference
Running a trained AI model to get an answer — as opposed to training it.
Inference is the act of using a trained model to produce an output — answering a question, transcribing a call, generating a reply. It is distinct from training (teaching the model). Inference cost and speed matter for real-time products like voice bots, where the reply must come back in under a second.
